Oakshott family members, guests and staff are shown in portrait footage at Foxhunt Manor at Foxhunt Green in Waldron, East Sussex. Subjects are also shown in the grounds of the house, at Eastbourne and a local fair, filmed by Eugene Oakshott, the head of the family, in 1927 [?].

Scenes filmed by Ernest Shippam at C. Shippam LTD factory in Chichester, local football matches and sea fishing. The men working at Shippam's factory use specialised equipment to process, jar, cook and pack meat paste. Inventive camera angles and slow motion footage provides an insight into working life and amateur filmmaking in the 1930s.

The next section shows the Coronation Scot rail service from Euston to Glasgow. Black and White and Colour footage shows family scenes on a camping holiday and in a domestic garden.

The soldiers have group photographs taken and are seen socialising in between shots. This short black and white film shows the morning routine of soldiers from the Queen's Royal (West) Surrey Regiment on a training camp. The men wash with a cloth and brush their teeth in the openings of their tents. Others undertake drills and parades. The men also carry metal trays or containers foutside a row of tents (possibly emptying dirty water or collecting fresh water ?). This film is partially out of focus, but contains some scenes of male nudity.

This short black and white film highlights soldiers from the Queen's Royal (West) Surrey Regiment undergoing training exercises in a wooded rural landscape (?). Officers march along a road and across a floating pontoon on a river carrying arms and mortar guns. The second section shows the officers waiting to be paid their wages/stipend at a mobile field station and the third section shows soldiers on parade and posing for the camera.

This short edited film shows RAF pilots and ground infantry undergoing training exercises and parade drills. Five pilots from 43 (F) squadron fly Hawker Fury Mk1's in formation, followed by a large group of RAF officers on parade outside a building dressed in full uniform. In the final section a small group of soldiers undertake bayonet and hand-to hand-combat training in a field.
