A collection of scenes of Midhurst, Petersfield, Steyning, Horsham, Portsmouth and Worthing, made during the 1930s and early 1960s. The scenes focus on a woman (sometimes accompanied) visiting these towns, with the features of urban life - transport, shopping and leisure activities - providing a backdrop. Shop and business signage is strongly featured.

This film shows a series of St George's Day Parades, County Camps, a troop of Scouts building a Nissen hut and individual Scout and Guide troop events from across the Mid-Sussex region.
Do You Know Your Sussex
This film takes the viewer on a brief tour of Sussex towns, villages and places of interest, inviting us to guess the identity of each location as it appears in the film. The answer is revealed with an inter title after each place featured. The film was made by Mr Phil Ellis, a member of the Institute of Amateur Cinematographers.

This amateur film features two youth events connected to churches in Worthing, West Sussex. The first part of the film is shot in black and white and shows the Wiston House weekend house party; the second part, shot in colour, shows the Lodge Hill youth weekend. The young people are seen taking part in a variety of activities at both locations and on a day trip to Goodwood.
The Steyning Line

Two amateur film-makers record a journey on the Steyning Line from Christ's Hospital to Brighton made one month prior to the lines closure. The film shows the entire trip, including the car journey to Christ's Hospital station, and includes views from the diesel train of the countryside and stations on route. The film also features scenes of Brighton as the men make their way from the Station to the seafront and back before making the return journey.
[Washington & Steyning Horse Show]
Scenes filmed at Washington and Steyning Horse Show by amateur film maker Dora Harmer in around 1968. Horses make jumps at a gymkhana around a course surrounded by rolling hills. Horse boxes, spectators and cars are seen in a field. Participants race in traps, pulled by horses.
