Moving History - A Year in a Kentish Hop Garden
A lyrical film that chronicles a year in the hop gardens of Kent - featuring fields being ploughed in January, hop poles being erected in March, plants growing in Spring, harvesting in August by legions of hop-pickers and the hops being finally dried in oast houses in September. The film ends with scenes showing charcoal production for the oast houses' furnaces.

Sussex: Dyke Railway

This short newsreel features a Southern steam locomotive on the Dyke Railway as it begins its last journey. Snow falls at The Dyke station as the Station Master, Mr Charles James Weller, is seen coupling the carriage to the locomotive and passing the 'staff' to the train driver to authorise the train's journey on the single track line.

A Merton Park Studios production, detailing the workings of Barking Power Station, run by the London Electricity Supply Company in the 1930s. Construction work at the ever-expanding station is shown as it attempts to meet the demands for electricity in industry, farming, transport and the home.
