Road Safety Rally
This amateur film, produced by Shoreham Cine Club features a Road Safety and Economy Run organised by the Sussex Car Club on the 29th April 1962. The film opens with a man at home preparing to take part in the rally. The main part of the film features the rally itself, including officials testing drivers en route. The film ends with shots of the presentation at the finish line and the man returning home in his car after the rally.

This amateur film documents towns and villages along the coast of East and West Sussex. Starting in Eastbourne, the film-maker records typical seaside and harbour scenes, travelling westwards along the coast. The film concludes at Bognor Regis.

This film shows a series of scenes from a Sports Day event with the children running foot and sack races and playing tug-of-war on the Brighton College playing field, watched by friends and family (also on TID:5356). The second film shows the family sitting on Shoreham-by-Sea beach posing for photographs, closing with the family at Newhaven Harbour and a ferry leaving the port with passengers.

This amateur film captures the Chichester Air Training Corps and aviation related scenes in West Sussex. Cadets gather in Chichester for the Sussex Wing Parade and are seen on camp at Duncton. The film includes shots of aeroplanes at Shoreham Airport and Goodwood as well as Girl Guides swimming in the closing section of the film.

A brief family film taken on a trip to the fairground. The film-maker, Mr Dudkin, focusses on his family as they go on the swing and carousel rides. Two young girls in red dresses play on slides and walk hand in hand with their mother and an older woman. The girls also walk hand in hand with a man [Mr Dudkin?]. The older of the two girls goes on a pony ride.

This amateur film opens with shots of a visit to Sheffield Park Gardens near Haywards Heath; two women are seen wandering around the gardens and admiring the plants. The second part of the film features the Brighton Carnival and a procession of floats as it passes along Grand Avenue in Hove.
A compilation of scenes, taken by Michael Gillings, in and around Brighton. The Guinness Clock, Volks Railway, Lyons Carnival, night time illuminations and 'Miss Brighton' contest entertain visitors to the seafront, while others walk around the Willow Pattern Garden at Preston park, Shoreham Harbour and the miniature railway at Hove Park.
The Steyning Line

Two amateur film-makers record a journey on the Steyning Line from Christ's Hospital to Brighton made one month prior to the lines closure. The film shows the entire trip, including the car journey to Christ's Hospital station, and includes views from the diesel train of the countryside and stations on route. The film also features scenes of Brighton as the men make their way from the Station to the seafront and back before making the return journey.
