This film of Woking's Home Guard shows various exercises on a firing range and patrols along the town's streets. Training is carried out with weapons, including grenades and S.I.P bombs, both thrown, and using a Northover Projector. The men practice crossing the Basingstoke Canal on a rope bridge. The film ends with a fete and pageant for local schoolchildren.

The film was possibly made to help encourage the public to recycle waste scrap metal and so that they could see how it was being used as part of the war effort.
