Archive film compilation screened as part of the Marsh on Screen film project organised by Screen South May 2018. The film was shown at St Nicholas Church, New Romney for the launch of the film project, part of the Fifth Continent Romney Marsh Landscape Partnership Scheme run by Kent Wildlife Trust and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

This black and white film features scenes of a parade by the Hitler Youth; scenes of a NSDAP meeting and several members of the Hitler Youth undertaking physical exercises and street performances.

This black and white film shows scenes of officers and boys or cadets at a shooting range. This is followed by a group of young men participating in various athletics events (possibly at a school or barracks ?) with Nazi banners on the buildings in the background.
[Journey Through the Mountains]
This film shows a couple travelling through the Swiss Alps towards Italy in an open top car. The couple visit a harbour and the Middle Bridge (Mittlere Brucke) in Basel over the Rhine. Shots of a mountain range near St Moritz, and a hotel surrounded by a snowy landscape are followed by a tour of Italy visiting Bologna and Florence.

[Girl's Gymnastics Display]
This black and white film opens shows a group of girls from the Bund Deutscher Mädel (BDM) undertaking outdoor physical training, gymnastic exercises and athletics events, supervised by nuns. Groups of girls in day wear gather to watch the sports events. Women dressed in traditional dresses perform dances and sing together, then sit down for a meal before attending a prize giving ceremony.

This black and white film shows young women from the Bund Deutscher Mädel (the League of German Girls) and young men from the Hitlerjugend (Hitler Youth) taking part in various sports.

This three part film shows a youth parade through Eupen, accompanied by several adult brass marching bands, some dressed in white uniforms. The second film shows a communion parade and the final film shows a troupe of Scouts marching out from St Nikolaus church, Eupen with flags and banners.
Moving History - A Year in a Kentish Hop Garden
A lyrical film that chronicles a year in the hop gardens of Kent - featuring fields being ploughed in January, hop poles being erected in March, plants growing in Spring, harvesting in August by legions of hop-pickers and the hops being finally dried in oast houses in September. The film ends with scenes showing charcoal production for the oast houses' furnaces.
