Sunnymede 1953

This colour film shows the family on several caravanning holidays and sightseeing trips around the South Coast of England and Wales.

[Parade; Camp; South Downs Hike]

A film showing a district parade with Scouts and Guides, marching through Haywards Heath to Muster Green, welcomed by friends and family. The 1st Haywards Heath Scouts board a coach in Haywards Heath with their kit, This is followed by shots of the exterior of 'The Broadway' theatre as the coach passes by. On arrival, the Scouts build a camp, and drink tea with friends and family. The final scene shows a hike across the South Downs.

[Liner Holiday Aboard the Europa Trieste]

This colour travelogue style film captures the family's trip aboard the Europa Trieste liner, followed by a land tour of the Eastern Cape and South Africa by car and coach. The family visit several sites on route around the coastline. passing through Mozambique and several townships in South Africa; stopping off at an ostrich farm, Table Mountain and a Nature Reserve.

[Tribal Dances; The Queen Mother Visits Africa; Family Holidays]

This colour film shows tribal dance performances, followed by H.M The Queen Mother meeting dignitaries in a town square, a dam under construction and the Zambezi River with Victoria Falls.

[Balcombe to Brighton]

This colour film provides a portrait of life in the seaside town of Brighton. The journey opens with the film-maker boarding a Southern Train at Balcombe Station to arrive at Brighton. Mixed views follow of the roads and streets along the seafront, viewing the Old Steine, Victoria Gardens, Palace Pier, Volk's Electric Railway, Peter Pan's amusement park and playground, and the sea front towards Hove Bowling Green.

[Atoms for Peace]

This edited colour film shows highlights of the 'Atoms for Peace' conference and exhibition (International Conference on Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy) in Geneva. Exhibitors, equipment and demonstrations are shown in detail. Additional black and white footage shows shots of Radiotherapy / Radiationtherapy equipment and views of the Genevan countryside.

[Japan: Hokkaido]

Various scenes showing a dockyard and factory in Japan, filmed by Ernest Shippam in the 1950s. Workers pose for the camera on the dockside as they unload cargo from a boat. Scenes cut to an airfield where a plane is being refuelled, before the film-maker visits a Church and later, a busy shopping district to capture street scenes showing people dressed in western clothing and traditional Japanese Kimonos, going about their everyday lives.

Sussex May 1956

This film is a compilation of scenes from outings in Sussex and Kent during May 1956. Inter titles indicate the various locations visited. A woman, often wearing red and walking with a black dog is seen in most of the shots.

Nagard Staff Outings

This colour film shows Nagard Ltd employees attending a company outing and features scenes at their electronic equipment plant in Surrey.

[Cricket; Pontins Wick Ferry]

This two-part film shows the family eating a meal with the South Bersted Cricket team on a playing field, followed by a family holiday to the Pontins resort of Wick Ferry.
