The Last Chord: The Life Story of a Merchant Seaman
A fictionalised account of the life of a young merchant seaman, which includes footage of his wedding. The crew of the RNLI lifeboat 'Charles Cooper Henderson' rescue him after he is shipwrecked, causing great relief to his wife and child. The poetic images were originally edited to a classical score; a similar score has been reinstated for the online version.

Travels across Spain feature in this film, recorded on two separate trips. On the first, Mr Voss drives from Barcelona to Madrid, stopping in Bilbao. On the second, almost five years later, Voss travels from Madrid to Burgos, stopping at Aranda de Duero, Estella and Pamplona. He returns to Madrid via the Guadarrama mountains, and visits Roman monuments at Mérida.
Post war footage, filmed by Gladys Bishop, of her grandchildren, John Edward and Ann Patricia, in black and white and colour, at play in her landscaped garden in Sutton, Surrey, and at Selsey beach in West Sussex.

It features footage of many different parts of Japan, including Sagami Bay and Enoshima Island, Tokyo, the temples and shrines of Kyoto, Kamakura and Nara, and the hot spring resorts of Miyanoshita, Atami and Jozankei. The footage of Hong Kong features Kowloon and the surrounding rural areas and in Egypt a trip to Cairo and the pyramids is filmed.
This professional film was produced as an educational record of Canterbury Cathedral. It has a commentary which supplies historical facts about the images captured on film.

This edited short film shows 'Buck' Ryan demonstrating trick riding, vaulting and equestrian display gymnastics on horseback. Large crowds watch from around the arena in Victoria Park, in Haywards Heath. The next sequence shows a troop of Scouts [Slaugham Troop?] and a company of Guides parading through a churchyard towards a church [St Andrews Church, Burgess Hill?].
A compilation of amateur material shot by a member of Haywards Heath Cine & Video Society. The film begins with a sequence dedicated to pub exteriors and their signs. The film-maker and his wife visit Gloucester Cathedral and the model village at Bourton-on-the-Water before sunbathing on the beach at Beer, watching the fishing boats coming in.
