This film shows a voyage by Lord and Lady Baden-Powell visiting troops and companies of Scouts and Guides as they cruise the Baltic on the SS Calgaric for an ‘Argosy of Peace’. The film includes scenic views of the nations visited, with welcome parades and greetings by dignitaries, national costumes and uniforms, speeches, processions, dances, games and meals.
Film of the Staley family on holiday in Snowdonia, Wales. Ralph Staley films workings on a sheep farm and his family on the seafront, where ten year old Pam practices driving on the beach. They walk up mount Snowdon and take picnics in the countryside. A final section, in Dufaycolor, shows the family at Lake Bala [?] taking walks and stopping for tea.

On the banks of the Ganges, a funeral pyre is prepared. Street scenes follow, before an Asian couple in Western riding gear pose for the camera. People board a train on the Great Indian Peninsula Railway. The landscape is filmed from a train window, before a busy city street scene. A group of European friends are seen having tea, before footage of boats in a bay, filmed from the deck of a ship.
Where Was George?
This silent black and white fiction film tells the story of a man named George who feels undermined by his wife. Upon receiving money left to him by a relative, he sets about fixing his domestic troubles by visiting a hypnotist. Working with a colleague, he plans to mislead his wife by going on holiday to Brighton without her. George tells his wife he is on a business trip. Unfortunately for George, she foils his plan and tracks him down at a hotel.

Margaret Grierson's film, with commentary written by W.H.Auden, presents a day out for Londoners at their south coast destinations. Leaving London during a heat wave, they make their way to Brighton, Broadstairs, Ovingdean and Eastbourne to swim, dance, chatter and enjoy the Palace Pier's amusements.
