This black and white edited film shows a group undertaking a series of winter sports in Switzerland (?), followed by a series of outings that include the Southdown bus depot and a mix of East Kent buses with busy street scenes. The group also visit Herne Bay seafront, Margate Lido and the Dreamland Amusement park.

This well-made amateur film features scenes of people and places in the south east of England and further afield. Rural scenes and traditional farming practices are recorded in and around Reculver, Kent in the first part of the film. The second part features comparatively busier scenes from the market town of Richmond and coastal towns and villages on the North Yorkshire coast.

An amateur film with intertitles which tours Folkestone in the immediate pre-Second World War era. The film was made by members of the Martin Walter Ltd Garage which features heavily.

The film includes storm damage to Herne Bay and Margate, a horse display by 'The Cossacks', the West Cliff Regatta, diving by Prof. Bert Powsey, the Carnival, the Herne Bay Regatta, a bowls match, air raid precautions, the retirement of Captain Hill, a traffic accident, a capsized dinghy and winter sports.

Herne Bay Newsreel 1939
This is one of a series of local newsreels made by John Clague, featuring events in the town of Herne Bay. The film includes Regatta Day, 'Men of Kent and Kentish Men' luncheon, and Herne Bay covered in snow and the frozen sea.
This film shows the work of the Herne Bay A.R.P. service during the early years of the Second World War. ARP Members train for bomb and gas-attacks; practising extinguishing incendiary devices and simulating the treatment of casualties. The film also shows a large-scale dress rehearsal for a gas attack and a multi-service parade.

This film shows highlights of the Norcon Works, Chichester and the family garden at Herne Bay. Views of hundreds of concrete pipes stacked in the yard; a Rabier crane lifts large pipes onto a trailer, with views of several men at work and of the industrial sand works; several warehouses fill the view.
