Visitors ride on swingboats, roundabouts and the Helter Skelter, and play carnival games. Views of carnival workers 'behind the scenes' and footage shot from a roundabout as it spins on its axis are also included.

An edited amateur film from the 1930s consisting of material relating to the family of Harry Guermonprez, co-founder of the the Bognor Regis Film Society. Harry Guermonprez and his family appear throughout the film. The film includes a short section of 'magic tricks', (created using film editing techniques) and a visit to London Zoo.

The children play and dance in the garden at their Hampton home, ride horses in nearby fields and go swimming at an outdoor pool. Aunts and grandparents are also included, and many scenes are filmed during winter, the countryside blanketed in snow.

A group outing to the Festival of Britain Pleasure Gardens at Battersea Park. Members of the group are seen at the fun fair including, boating on the lake, and riding tricycles. The film shows the ‘Crazy House’, the ‘Guinness Clock’ and other exhibition buildings. The group then have tea inside a hall and the ‘Ham Evangelical Free Church’ is shown.

Scenes of the devastation caused by the severe storms of winter 1953. This amateur film-maker’s record shows the rough seas still battering the coastline at Hampton. The film is intertitled throughout.
Stand 57: Sussex County Agricultural Show at Eastbourne

A narrated film showing the construction of the Louis G. Ford Ironmongers stand (no. 57) at the Sussex County Agricultural Show held in Eastbourne (Hampden Park). A group of men lift and set a 50FT "Dexion" slotted angle metalwork frame tower, and dress the stand for the show. Scenes include panoramic shots of an empty field from the top of the tower, followed by views of a busy show ground with public visiting the trade stalls during the show.
This film shows a series of East Sussex based steam rallies that includes a mix of steam traction engines, transport, commercial vehicles from across East Sussex plus a fairground organ . Note: The first scenes have a red colour cast to the image, full colour then returns.
