The Channel Between
This short film shows a cross-channel trip from Dover to Calias. The film shows views taken on board the Royal Daffodil ferry, the local sights and landmarks of Calais (Hotel de Ville, Town hall and Tour du Guet tower). There are also scenes of the area around Dover; a visit to Deal Castle, Peter Pan's Playground and the South East coast of England.
This extended film shows the Steed family on safari in Kenya and visiting the lakes of Uganda; capturing views of rural life, farming and the natural environment. The group also stop to admire the equatorial ring at the Ugandan Equator marker, and tour a Ugandan quarry or mine.
Gosports Goings On

This film shows a family visit to Gosport, with scenes of the seaside, a Hovercraft, a visit to Foster Gardens, a panoramic view of the Camper and Nicholsons shipyard from the top of a building (?), and the Naval Shipyard. The group visit the Portsmouth War Memorial, and the rides on Southsea seafront. Returning to Gosport for the Carnival parade with floats. The film ends with scenes at Portsmouth Harbour from aboard a ferry.
[Our Holiday in Austria]
Inspired by the Sound of Music, Michael Gillings and his wife visit Austria, traveling through Europe by coach on a £19 package holiday, to visit towns, lakes and mountains, in 1965.
Further footage, taken by Michael Gillings while on a coach holiday to Austria in 1965. The party visit Lucerne in Switzerland before traveling back to Oostende to catch the ferry back to Dover.
This family film opens with snowy scenes of the family home and garden in Chobham, Surrey, followed by scenes of the family on holiday in Cornwall, Dymchurch, Thurleston, Norfolk, West Bay and boarding a P&O ferry the SS Oriana, on route to Australia (?). This film is intertitled throughout and has an animated opening title.
