A compilation of amateur material recording trains, locomotives and railway stations in England and the United States of America. The film also contains footage of a Battle of Britian dogfight in which one of the pilots is forced to parachute from his plane. Stations that feature include Hove, Brighton, Dyke branch, Worthing, London Victoria, Waterloo, and Brookwood.

The film opens with a banner ‘Welcome to Croydon’. There are street and market scenes with trams and buses passing by. A couple change a flat tyre in a country lane. Scenes of towns in Surrey and Sussex include roadside picnics, motorcycles and sidecars, and views from Box Hill. Views at Birling Gap are followed by the group on the beach at Ryde and Shanklin where they play cricket. Various picnic scenes follow, and the film ends with views of the Brooklands race track.

Members of the 'Ashford Kent Motor Club' are filmed at various events during 1938 and 1939. Amongst these are a motorcycle hill-climb at Brook, a speedway competition on a rural track, and The Dunlop Trophy Trial which takes place in the Kent countryside. There is also footage of a black-tie dinner and a filmed reconstruction in which a father responds to the birth of his baby son.
