Picnics & Pam 1932
A film of the Staley family on various outings. The family group pick flowers in the countryside and have a tea and a picnic. At home, daughter Pam Staley (aged 8) eats at the table with her parents, plays piano and brushes her hair. On other outings, the family go sailing, have a walk and a picnic in the country and go swimming in the sea.

Dr. Thomas Hately Macfie records in detail his new house being built, in typically grand and modern style, in Bognor Regis. His wife and daughter explore the construction site, and workers labour to finish the founations, first and second storey, roof and garden.

Members of the Flavell family and their friends are recorded playing in the garden of a family home, and on the beach and in the sea at Bognor Regis. The children go on pony rides along the sandy beach and partake in group exercises. They also play with each other and with their toys in the garden, including a yo-yo.
The Den School (Sudley Cottage)
Film by Ralph Staley of activities at his daughter Pam's girls school in Bognor. Girls perform a "health and fitness" style exercise display and show their gymnastic skills at jumping over a vaulting horse. A group of Girl Guides perform a ceremony and are awarded badges; they pose for a photo and play a whispering game. The girls then hold a costumed performance for the parents.

Home movie material from the 1930s and 1940s which records members of the Flavell family and their friends partaking in various leisure time activities during the summer months. The compilation contains some early non-red Kodachrome.
Film of a Jubilee parade in Bognor Regis in honour of George V, shot by Ralph Staley from a window above his drapers shop in the High Street. The film shows bunting decorating the street and the Jubilee procession including a marching band and floats. Couples dance in the street to a live band. The film ends with a shot of his daughter Pam in their garden, playing with a cat.
Further scenes filmed in the family garden and compiled by Dr. MacFie in Autumn and Winter 1935. Family members dress up, play with the new puppy and take tea in the garden in Autumn and Winter scenes.
[Silver Jubilee George V]

A short Dufaycolor film made by the Bognor Regis Film Society, which shows celebrations in the town, to mark the Silver Jubilee of George V in 1935. Large crowds line the street to watch as a parade of floats and walking groups processes through the decorated town. Dufaycolor was an early film system that employed a matrix of red, green and blue to produce colour on film. This matrix pattern is clearly in evidence in the online clips.
Scenes from all along the South Coast from Bournemouth to Margate, broken up by intertitles and produced by Marion Grierson in the 1930s.
Silver Jubilee Celebrations at Bognor Regis
This black and white film provides highlights of a parade with procession and floats in Bognor Regis for HM George V Jubilee Celebration. The parade is followed by a sports display on a playing field, a fire brigade demonstration and closes with a fireworks display.
