Summary

This colour and black and white film shows scenes from various Scouting and Guiding films from the Sussex region. The first is an award ceremony and adult scouting meeting at a camp site, followed by the opening of a building (Scout and Guide headquarters ?) by a Senior Guiding leader.

Description

This film opens with a group of adult Scout leaders and Rover Scouts gathered in a camp for a meeting with members from the Slaugham pack pus others sitting on logs. Various portrait shots show several older men and woman and a gathering of men and women around a car.

The next part shows a camp clearing with a Scout leader or master reading from a long piece of paper. A second Scout leader holds a board that reads: Camp notices Sussex Scout Opening'. and a Scout leader in a red neckerchief is presented with a horn (?) on a ribbon bowing in thanks to the crowd.

The next part shows a colour montage of several plants and flowers in a garden, cutting to black and white images of a Scouting parade in a village or town (Lewes ?) outside a church hall with crowds of Brownies, Guides and Scouts outside. A senior Guiding leader holds a key aloft for the crowds to see, as she formally opens the building for the groups to use, the groups applaud as she opens the door.
