Summary

This film shows mixed groups of Guides and Scouts gathered at several campsites and on parade. The film opens with a Group of Guides gathered on Muster Green, receiving the Guide Scroll of Welcome which they pass round the district. The next film shows highlights of several parades and camp gatherings on the Ashenground site. The 18th Bechenham (Kent) Scouts visit a Sussex group of Sea Scouts at their camp.

Description

The film opens with a company of Guides assembled on a camp at Muster Green singing songs and doing movements to the words. A group of girls arrive by bicycle to deliver a scroll marked 'World Conference Great Britain Message of Friendship' and is shown to the girls at camp. The Guides then take the scroll wrapped up in a net, around the village in a form of relay event. The girls pass several shops in the high street including a chemist, a hosiery store, 'East Dene' gate, 'Arthur Pratt & Son family butchers', and 'Westminster Bank Limited.

At a camp (Lindfield site ?), a group of Guides and their families are gathered to cook a meal, and a large group of Sea Scouts are gathered around a camp fire with their tin mugs (shots are very dark possibly at the Ashenground site marking a visit by the 18th Beckenham (Kent) Scouts ?).

A brief series of shots show a marching band gathered on Muster Green ready to lead a Guide and Scout St George's Day parade. This is followed by individual shots of Guides and Scouts having their photographs taken in a camp, and shots of Cubs and Scouts gathered on the Ashenground site for a meeting.

The final scene shows a group of Scouts on a campsite, peeling potatoes over a tin pot, ending with a portrait shot of a Scout leader.
