This colour film shows a village fair at Balcombe House attended and supported by local district Scouts and Guides. The Scouts and Guides perform and demonstrate several activities for the watching public.
The film opens with views of a member of the clergy standing on the steps outside Balcombe House welcoming people to the Balcombe Village fair. Views of a formally dressed woman giving a speech are followed by a young child giving the woman a basket of flowers. Mixed wide shots then show Balcombe House and Gardens, with the Scouts and Guides helping out on the stalls and games and members of the public walking around in the summer sunshine.
The second part of the film provides wide views of several folk dance and theatre performances from a group of children (Guides and Scouts ?), followed by a Scout demonstration of knot tying to build bridges and rope swings for the watching public.
