This film shows mixed events and activities of the Sharrow Preparatory School sports day event for pupils. A selection of races and events are shown including an adult and children three legged race, piggyback races and a physical exercise and gymnastics display.
This post war film opens with mixed views and sports day events of Sharrow Preparatory School on a recreation ground in Haywards Heath. Mixed views of several events include a long distance race, a crawling race, long jump events, adult and child piggy-back races, longer distance races, adult and child three-legged races, relay races, younger girls and boys races, tug of war competitions; followed by a close up of the trophy table with awards.
The second part of the film provides highlights of various demonstrations and displays including a boys agility and physical exercises demonstration. A a young toddler runs on to the playing field during the demonstration closely followed by child's mother running to get him. The woman desperately holds her hat on her head as she chases after him.
