This amateur film records teenage girls from the Astor Secondary Modern School in Dover being taught various aspects of childcare.

Shots of two young women talking to an unhappy looking toddler are followed by shots of girls studying in a classroom. On a visit to a maternity ward the girls learn about caring for babies - back in the classroom they make formula, put a nappy on a doll and lay it down in a cot. A member of the Kent Ambulance Service demonstrates first aid techniques to the students, including CPR. At the Ashen (?) Tree Nursery toddlers are supervised by the students as they have milk and biscuits, and play games - they play with Plasticine and Dominoes, and have fun on the climbing frame. Shots of a childcare table at an exhibition end the film. Note: this film has no accompanying sound.
