HRH The Duchess of Kent receives an enthusiastic welcome when she visits Ramsgate. In this short film Katharine Duchess of Kent, is seen walking through the streets and being greeted by the people of the town. She unveils a plaque at the Ramsgate General Hospital and signs a book of remembrance, after which she meets patients in the wards; she is driven off in a royal car.


Opening title: "Ramsgate Welcomes A Royal Visitor". Crowds of people line the streets of Ramsgate to welcome HRH The Duchess of Kent as she walks through the town, accompanied by the mayor and other dignatories. Shot of the front of Ramsgate General Hospital. The Duchess is accompanied to the hospital where she meets hospital staff; shots of nurses lining up to be greeted by The Duchess. Inside the hospital, she unveils a plaque which reads: "Ramsgate Peace Memorial Book of Remembrance 1939-1945"; she signs the book. Brief shot of The Duchess talking to a patient who is using an exercise machine; shots of her visiting wards, patients are laying in beds and nurses stand next to them. She visits the children's ward and talks to a young boy in a bed who is holding a Union Jack flag. The film ends with shots of The Duchess being driven off in a royal car; crowds push forwards to catch a glimpse and wave her off.
