Summary

This film shows two family holidays, the first is a camping and caravaning holiday in the New Forest and the second is a trip to a cottage in South Wales. The final section shows a family outing to the Thames Valley Skiff Club regatta, where family members row several Thames Skiffs in the water with others watching from the river bank.

Description

On a lakeside camping and caravanning holiday, the family sit at several camping tables and wash dishes in a field following an afternoon meal. A young girl runs around the field with washing up bubbles on her hand, wiping them on anyone that gets near her. The family then play games of cricket and tennis (?) in the camp field.

The next part opens with shots of a rural road with a large flock of sheep running down the middle, closely followed by a sheepdog and the farmer. The shot cuts to an interior shot of a farmhouse with a man talking to a group of young boys in the kitchen. A brief interior shot shows the living room decor.

On an outing to the Thames Valley Skiff Club regatta, a young girl leads her grandfather (?) over a bridge on the River Thames, followed by shots of the group sat on a row of benches next to the river watching the Skiffs pass on the water. The shots cut to a young girl dressed like Paddington Bear, with a red waterproof hat and navy blue Duffle coat sitting with the family on a bench at the boat club. Several close-up's follow of older men in a Skiff on the river and an older woman holding a baby whilst sat on the bench. The film ends with a woman rowing a Thames Skiff on the river.
