Summary
This black and white film shows young women from the Bund Deutscher Mädel (the League of German Girls) and young men from the Hitlerjugend (Hitler Youth) taking part in various sports.
Description
This black and white film shows young women from the Bund Deutscher Mädel (the League of German Girls) and young men from the Hitlerjugend (Hitler Youth) taking part in long jump athletics events surrounded by men in suits. This may also be part of a Kraft durch Freud (Strength through Joy) sports event. The groups compete in shot-put and track races, whist the camera takes portrait close-ups of the girls from the BDM standing together.
The film next captures a series of coaches waiting on a street, to then cuts back to events in the athletics venue where several men and women run track events. The camera views the action from the finish line. This is followed by shots of spectators watching the events. The film has severe edge damage throughout, obscuring the picture.
