Summary

This edited film features the May 1936 RAF Tangmere Empire Air Display. Several Hawker Fury Mk I planes are seen taking off and landing, followed by an Avro autogiro flying over the airfield.

Description

Several Hawker Fury Mk I are seen landing, followed by an autogiro (Avro Rota Mk I Cierva Autogiro C30A ?) flying over the airfield marked - K4238.

In the next section the camera takes panoramic aerial shots from an aircraft above the airfield at Tangmere, (Shaky) and then lands on the airfield. Three Hawker Furys sit ready on the runway to then take off showing 25 Squadron colours (registrations: K2052, K2063, K2067). On the airfield, pilots walk about dressed in flight suits and talk to the public at the display next to the hangar buildings.

The final section shows ground crews on the runway as a Hawker Fury Mk1 flies overhead (43 'F' Squadron - K1941) very close to the camera.
