Summary

This film shows the Queen's Royal (West) Surrey Regiment on and off duty at a campsite.

Description

This short compilation of colour films shows the Queen's Royal (West) Surrey Regiment marching band rehearsing and on parade at a campsite. The film also features the horse artillery carrying guns and supplies in wagons on to the campsite. Soldiers and officers of various ranks are seen mounted on horseback and on foot.

The next section shows a group of soldiers giving another solder the 'bumps' at the campsite - throwing him up into the air on a blanket; the soldier falls out. The other soldiers put him back in the blanket and continue the game.

The final film section shows soldiers cleaning their kit and darning fabric at their camp. Equipment has been carefully laid out on a blanket ready for inspection. Some men are in full uniform others are in civilian clothing.
