This edited colour and black and white film shows the Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Hampshire countryside following the River Thames. The film includes exterior shots of the grounds and buildings of two independent day and boarding Schools - Bedales School, Hampshire and Wycombe Abbey School, Buckinghamshire and displays by some of the students.

This edited colour and black and white film shows the Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Hampshire countryside following the River Thames. This film opens with a man and a girl sitting in a row boat on a river (River Thames?) enjoying a day out, followed by a cricket team playing a game on a crease in the distance, whilst spectators watch from a thatched clubhouse next to the field of play.

The next colour film is of two independent day and boarding Schools. The first is The Bedales School in Steep, Hampshire from a road outside, followed by black and white footage of the Wycombe Abbey School, Buckinghamshire.
At Wycombe Abbey School, a girl and a lady emerge from a doorway and enter the school grounds (possibly Elizabeth and her mother?) In colour, the same pair sit at a table in a garden. Elizabeth (?) is reading a newspaper dressed in school blazer and skirt and her mother (?) is taking to her.

A group of students from Wycombe Abbey School are taking part in a games class (Physical Training, gymnastics?) in the field outside the main school building. The sequence also briefly shows a tea party in the school grounds. A woman is with Elizabeth (?) who is dressed in full uniform. Both are standing talking outside one of the buildings.

In the next black and white film, a lock keeper (?) is standing on a lock, leaning against one of the lock arms whilst a pleasure craft passes behind him. A tour of the River Thames follows, passing under a bridge towards a lock (possibly at Cookham?) and other pleasure craft towards Marlow. All Saints Church, Marlow and the ‘Compleat Angler Hotel’ are seen as the boat passes the bank. This is followed by a group of students on parade doing acrobatics in the Wycombe Abbey school fields dressed in military style attire whilst a gathering of people watch, followed by girls in a games class jumping over a high jump and gym horse. The film ends with landscape shots of a weir on the Thames.
