This colour and black and white film shows scenes of Frances's christening party with a large family party in the garden where the children play. The second film shows shots of the children including: Valery riding on a pony, Peg and Michael in the garden, and mixed shots of baby Frances.


"1952 Grove. France's Christening"

The titles are followed by shots of the group having an outdoor tea party in the garden of their house. Several children play together on a tricycle as Mr and Mrs Steed sit to drink tea and eat sandwiches.

A close-up follows of Mrs Steed cutting an intricately iced christening cake (The film is taken from the first floor of the house, shaky and has a shallow depth of field) followed by close-ups of Mrs Steed and the rest of the family with the baby. The baby has been dressed in a white christening gown.

A man in a suit, in shown playing with the children on their tricycle. Mrs Steed, seen with two other children is seen sitting on a blanket holding the baby for the camera. The family are joined by a cat as another family member tries to take a photograph of the group (out of focus).

Colour scene of a teenage girl riding a dappled coloured (Welsh Cob?) pony through a field, accompanied by several children who take turns to ride the pony around the yard at the families Grove Farm home.

"1952 Grove. Peg Michael Gardening"

Colour shots of a woman sowing seeds in the garden using a rope as a guide, whilst a young boy carries out boxes from a shed and helps prepare the soil in the garden.

The final black and white scene shows baby Frances sitting on a woman's lap in the front room of a house (out of focus).
