Summary

This film, shows a large family gathering at East Northdown Farm, Kent where the family watch a Punch and Judy show in the garden. Two boys blow up balloons in front of the Punch and Judy box and the group sit around small tables in the garden for afternoon tea. The family also gather together for extended family photographs in front of the main house.

Description

This black and white film opens with two boys standing in a garden next to a Punch and Judy box, inflating balloons. Rows of children sit on the grass watching the show.

The family gather in the garden for a family photograph.

In black and white, family members gather for a traditional afternoon tea in the garden. A cake stand is filled with a selection of cakes and sandwiches, as tea is passed around. At the main house, several boys sit on the window ledge of a ground floor window, whilst a group admire a cherry tree in the garden.

The family group then make their way through the garden strolling past the film-maker (some shots lose focus and turn grainy). The children are gathered under the shade of a tree to watch the Punch and Judy show with several adults behind them (film is very damaged turning white in places), whilst a lone child watches from the window of the main house.
