This black and white and colour film, shows children playing in a courtyard and garden, a boy climbing a tree, a christening, a party, a family gathering in a garden, and a tennis party.


"1945 St. Nicholas. Michael Corrine & David"

The film opens with scenes of a young girl and boy playing on their scooters in a courtyard and garden. Children playing in a flower-bed with a spade and sack-barrow digging at the earth. The boy buries the girl's gloves. The girl rides a tricycle and plays on a swing.

The next sequence opens with black and white shots of a baby in a pram, followed by two children playing with a bucket in the garden. In colour, a young boy picks flowers in the garden. Back to black and white, the boy climbs a tree (out of focus) and the boy and girl play with a stack of house bricks. In black and white a very young girl plays with a baby in a front room (out of focus).

"1945 Finglesham Ian's Christening"

This black and white film opens in a garden with a lady dressed in a large hat and tartan dress, holding a baby wearing a christening gown. Wide shots of the family out in a garden follow, as they stand together talking. The next shot opens with a brief interior view of a room where four children sit around a low table eating sandwiches. Another child is sat in a high chair. (The shots are faded and very bright - hard to see action.)

This black and white film opens with several children playing in a raised flower-bed or sandpit, a very young girl tries to move a circular wheelbarrow, whilst others fill buckets and containers with earth or sand. An older girl and boy fight over a spade.

"July 1945 Mooved to Spratling" (sic) "1945 David's Christening"

This colour film opens with the family gathered in a garden. Mother holds the baby dressed in a white christening dress, whilst most of the adults are dressed in navy blue outfits. The family are in the garden on a sunny day; the are men dressed in full grey suits. This is followed by a portrait of the baby lying on a blanket.

"1945 Tennis party at Northdown" [colour]

The family is gathered in a garden having afternoon tea. Two ladies are sat in a swing lounger, one pours the tea; whilst a man feeds a little girl sat in a small wicker chair. One of the ladies cuts the cake. A young girl falls off her chair. The family are gathered under a long wooden shelter, whilst they sit holding tennis rackets dressed in tennis whites.
