This short film opens with a sow and her piglets in a pen followed by field workers harvesting a vegetable crop (sugarbeet or turnip) by hand. Horse and carts are used to move the vegetables around the fields.

This film opens with a Saddleback pig in a pen, with her piglets waiting to suckle. A farmer places a feeding trough into the pen and fills it with feed, so mother and piglets can feed.

In a field several men are pulling up sugarbeet or turnips and cutting the tops off. The men then use a horse and cart to transport the vegetables to one end of the field so they can be piled up. As the men are working to harvest the crop, a young girl wanders about in the field, throwing the vegetables behind her.
