A trip to Brugge, travelling by ferry from Dover to Ostende. Footage includes the Belfry in Brugge and Ostende harbour.


Titles read: “KAYJAY Films Present: “A day out”; “by courtesy of Rediffusion”. A mosaic floor shows the route from Dover to Ostende. The 'Sealink' Belgian Marine ferry “Prince Laurent” provides the setting for shots of a life belt, scenes leaving Dover Harbour, people on the ferry deck, and sailing into Ostende. As the boat comes into the harbour, the two spires of Sint-Petrus-en-Pauluskerk (Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul) can be seen.


A banner reads “Braderie” [?]. There are views of a street lined with shops and market stalls. A church tower can be seen. A strong man bends metal bars in front of an audience. Horse drawn carriages depart from the Grand Square (Grote Markt).
