An amateur film showing summer attractions in and around Eastbourne, including scenes of Beachy Head. A dog show and an air display by the Red Devils takes place in Gildredge Park. [Note: this amateur film is different to the 1975 publicity film of the same name]
A woman reads the seaside promotional magazine, “Eastbourne Sun trap and Showplace of the South”. A panorama of the beach shows bathers and the pier. People sit in front of the music stand. Passengers board a pleasure boat to “Beachy Head Lighthouse”. There are views from the boat of the beach, lighthouse and cliffs.
People relax on the cliff top. Scenes of the town centre and pier. People board a speedboat moored to the pier. The French 'Sealink' ferry ‘Valencay’ proceeds sternfirst to the Newhaven berth. At this time, ‘Valencay’ and her sister ship "Villandry" had only stern loading doors, and had to go astern to approach the linkspan.
A dog show takes place at Gildredge Park. People watch a band play and look around a flower display. There is an air and parachuting display by the Red Devils. Children play in a water play area. Men play bowls and cricket. A group of men swim in the sea. A couple have a picnic at Beachy Head. There are views of the coast and the number 19 "Sussex Express" open-top bus.
