Summary

A brief continuation of the narrative in TID: 7216 (?) showing the power of the sea and the Volks Electric railway with a hand drawn illustration of the (now buried) viaduct on the seafront. This is followed by footage of the train passing over the track.

Description

Narrative: "Shingle built up during the war years and the line was closed and completely buried the iron viaduct. The green line shows how far the sea has now receded. One can still see the the old viaduct girders flanking each side of the track. It seems as though that nature did the line a good turn here, as the viaduct would no doubt by now have met a costly renewal. Pictures: a hand drawn illustration shows the viaduct and pier on the seafront, with added lines to show the sea regressing. A shot then shows a driver stood in the cab of a Volks car (train) travelling along the track.
