Scenes showing photographs and period images recaptured on Movietone Super 8 cine-film of the Midhurst Railway line between Petersfield and Midhurst, inter-cut with a title and map of the station locations. This is followed by scenes of the line and a steam engine travelling between the two stations.

Still images show men in top hats and tails, which appear to suddenly spring to life. A title reads BFU Presents... "The Midi: A.D. 1864 - 1955". A map of the Petersfield to Midhurst railway line appears. The two stations on its route, Elsted and Rogate, are also marked. An intertitle reads 'From Petersfield'. The station is seen from the street side. Another reads 'The line wanders on its way through pretty countryside'. A steam train passes along the track, its engine in reverse, pushing two carriages. Midhurst Station (?) is seen from an elevated position. A local railway workers' pub and further track and station views follow. The line closed on the 7th February 1955.
