Neville Gillings and the Children's Film Unit perform on 'Top of the Wallies' in a Patcham garden. Michael Gillings, the camera's owner, records the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run as it passes through Patcham in 1984.

Local boys perform stunts on their bicycles on a residential street in Patcham. A playful film, produced by the Children's Film Unit called 'Top of the Wallyies?' follows, which features the boys dressing up in military hats, singing and dancing in the garden like "wallies" on a version of Top of the Pops. Motorcars and their drivers participating London to Brighton Veteran Car Run in 1984 pass through Patcham on their way to Brighton seafront, waving at the camera.
