This film includes a series of garden scenes, a fox hunt meet and a sailing trip on a river or canal as filmed by C. Ernest Shippam in 1938.

A woman sits writing at a desk in a garden (Mrs. E. Shippam?); a little girl plays with a cat in a greenhouse; a mother and daughter walk around a tennis court, as the little girl pushes a pram. The little girl rides a tricycle around the lawn, later seen being pushed by a man smoking a pipe. The man with a pipe gives her a piggy back. A woman feeds doves or pigeons on the lawn, and a young woman, dressed in trousers and a cardigan, circles the lawn on a bicycle.

The next scene, taken from the front of a moving car, shows the landscape as the car passes along a rural road. A couple are then seen siting beneath a tree, then walking through a woodland to get to a horse race track. A montage of shots show a flock of sheep and lambs in an enclosed field.

Returning to the garden, a young child is joined by her grandmother and later her mother, pushing her around on a toy horse. The girl also walks through several raised flower beds and pushes her toy horse up a garden path.

A group of men are filmed on a fox hunt, riding horses and jumping fences to keep up with the hounds. One horse and rider falls to the floor. as the horse refuses to jump.

The scene cuts to shots of crowds gathered on the banks of the River Thames for a boat race. Planes are seen overhead before the race begins and the boats move past. A compilation of shots follow that include a woman smoking a pipe in a wicker chair, a panorama of several boats resting on a placid lake, and an upturned vehicle lying on it's side by the side of a road with a man posing next to it.

Back in the family garden, portrait shots capture two men and two women walking towards the camera with linked arms, and an older woman (the girl's grandmother) among others, dressed in a fur collar, hat and round rimmed glasses posing for the camera. A young boy waves as he rides out of a garage on a bicycle with the young girl.

The final part shows a young man taking photographs from the front of a sailboat, his legs wrapped around the front of the boom. A man opens the lock gate and the boat moves through. The group then wait for the swing bridge to open so they can pass up stream. Children watch from the edge of the bridge. The boat and people are filmed from another boat tethered behind.
