A man cheating on his wife with his secretary gets his just deserts at a fancy dress party in this film produced by the North Downs Cinematograph Society in 1962.
"Amateur Cine World: this film gained 1 star in the ten best competition 1962" North Downs Cinematograph Society logo is seen. N.D.C.S. Presents... "Party Piece". Music, dubbed dialogue.
Scene I: A woman pours tea and calls her husband. "Coming, darling", he replies. He combs his hair, fully dressed. "Good morning", he says politely. He sits at the breakfast table and they talk about their upcoming fancy dress party. "I've invited all the men, now you invite all the ladies," she says. Her husband takes out an invitation.
Scene II: In another kitchen, a woman calls for her husband, who won't get out of bed. She scrapes burnt toast. He comes down the stairs in slippers and pyjamas. She gives him a hard time. "Do shut up," he says. "I work my fingers to the bone and I don't think you'd notice a bit if I wasn't here", she rabbits on. He storms out grumpily.
Scene III: The man from scene II gets to the office, greeting the secretary politely. He kisses her sweetly, thanking her when she gives him the post. They both have invitations to the fancy dress party.
Scene IV: At the fancy dress party, the secretary in a patterned sari is introduced to other attendants. Everyone is smoking and drinking. Another woman arrives, also wearing a patterned sari. A man in a gladiator outfit sneaks into a cupboard with the secretary. The secretary goes upstairs, beckoning to the man. The man approaches his wife, mistaking her for the secretary. His wife pushes a cake into his face.
Scene V: in the office, the man's secretary has been replaced by his wife. "The End"
