Footage of the family garden and a trip to Brighton, probably shot by Joe Franks, a member of the North Downs Film Unit, in the late 1950s.

In a domestic garden, a boy makes a den with a sheet. Footage of the flower beds and an old man in a deck chair follow. Tents, caravans and amusements are seen at a racing ground [?]. The family take tea outside in the garden. Two young girls paint, both wear plaits in their hair. Mrs. Franks [?] is seen gardening and taking the dog for a walk. An elderly man mows the lawn. Visits to friends and to an airfield and amusement park follow.

Veteran cars taking part in the London to Brighton rally pass the camera, positioned at the side of the road. At Brighton beach, the family walk along the promenade, past beach huts on Hove Lawns. Boats are pushed into the water, joining the swimmers. Scenes of the Palace Pier and lights at day and night follow. "The End."
