This colour and black and white film documents several family gatherings and holidays by the Wood family. The film-maker captures scenes from a child's birthday party, a wedding, a christening (?) and a visit to an airfield with close-up shots of the aircraft coming in to land.
This film opens with a compilation of black and white scenes of a family playing together in an outdoor swimming pool, in a garden on a metal roundabout and gathered to celebrate Sally's birthday in the family garden (shots are very bright and of low contrast). The film then cuts to a montage of exterior views of the house with a group of children sat playing in a car with the Union and Welsh flags. The group then pose for portrait shots with their flags, as Stuart stands dressed in a cowboy fancy dress outfit.
In colour, the next section shows a series of portrait shots of the family on a beach dressed in summer clothing and brightly coloured swimwear.
At an unknown location, a marquee stands in the gardens of a large house for a wedding reception or party. A bride dressed in a wedding dress dashes out of the marquee and into the house, closely followed by the groom (?) followed by a montage of individual and group portrait shots of the group.
The compilation provides a mixed group of portrait shots of the extended family, featuring a group of women gathered around a pram fussing over a baby. At a garden table, a woman drinks from a sherry glass (Mrs Wood?) followed by a series of family portraits and a shaky self portrait of Ken Wood. In the next scene, the Wood family have gathered for portraits outside a timber building holding a bay in a blanket (christening?).
The next section features a montage of individual shots of several young children followed by a family gathering in a garden, leading into a view of the front of a house with two cars cars parked on the driveway. The shot then cuts to the rear garden where the children play together with a red balloon, and hit several golf balls around the garden. The sequence closes with a series of family portraits (senior members and children) posing for the camera.
The next sequence shows the Wood family gathered at a show jumping event, as Patricia (?) and a teenage boy (Michael ?) stand talking, whilst Stuart (No. 20) rides a horse. Stuart also practices jumping fences with other riders. The film then returns to the family garden where the children play a game of golf, cutting to several shots of an older man and several children playing together with a dog, closing after a series of exterior views of the rear of the house.
In black and white the film returns to the family gathered to celebrate Sally's birthday in a garden (Similar colour footage available TID 5431). The children sit around a long table smiling and waving at the camera and eating pieces of a birthday cake. The children then get up to play games together in the garden. In the street outside, the boys play with a model aeroplane, and ride a bike.
In the final part of the film, the action focuses on the aircraft traffic on an airfield, filmed from a moving car. The camera captures wide views of a Second World War pillbox next to the runway, as a trio of aircraft come in to land - an RAF passenger carrier (?) and a DHC-1 Chipmunk 22 (WK622) come in low overhead, zipping close to the camera.
