This film shows the Linehan family at home [not included in online clip] on their son's birthday and on an outing to the seaside. The second part [included in clip] shows a visit to the HMS Venus moored in the Solent at Southampton.


This compilation opens with family scenes [not included in online clip] of a boy on tricycle playing in domestic garden and around a Pond. [Included in clip] Boats in Solent harbour (Southampton?) including a ferry and an Internal shot of a working engine.

The next scene shows a short sequence of the HMS Venus at sea filmed from a ferry and of the family walking on deck. Views of The Solent at Southampton with Sailing boats; a Town view; Man with two women; the Ferry passing the harbour; a view through a tourists telescope. The shot cuts to show am Amphibious DUK boat coming ashore with Royal Marines/Navy seamen aboard, followed by a series of coastal views.

[Not included in clip] The next section shows a boy on swing in a garden; a close-up of a baby, interior shots of the families dining room with the family sitting around the table ready to eat a meal followed by scenes from Steven’s 3rd birthday with a Birthday cake, Steven with his presents and playing with a red metal toy crane. The film closes with scenes of a man with a boy in motor boat on a boating lake, and the family at the seaside.
