The Erskine family on a fishing trip in Weymouth Bay - where mackerel and a thornback ray are caught and various scenes of yachts and ferries are filmed from the boat.

Titles read: “Fishy Tale; or one that didn’t get away; Weymouth August 1961”. A man in white clothing ties a small rowing boat to a larger motorised sailing boat. Filming from the boat, they travel along Weymouth harbour, passing numerous other vessels along the way. Members of the family, including a woman and two young children are filmed in the boat, along with the Captain who puts out bait on a fishing line. Mackerel are caught on long lines and a thornback ray is landed on the boat deck. A large steamer and various sailing yachts are filmed on the water before the fishing boat returns to the slipway in Weymouth.
