Footage of the Glaseby family, mother and young child, playing on Selsey's beach outside their beach hut, and at home in a domestic garden, in the 1930s.

During seaside scenes, young men and women wearing swimming costumes play ball games on the grass in front of a line of beach huts. A mother holds her little boy by the arms as they splash in the breakers. It is a windy day and her dress blows wildly around her. The baby is seen on the sand, playing with a spade. Two of the young women walk down to the sea from the beach. At the family's house, the baby is shown, standing up in his pram in the garden, where family members and a dog sit in deck chairs. Back at the beach, the little boy continues to play. Other family members join mother and baby, drawing in the sand.
