A compilation of several films made by Mr and Mrs Hammond documenting the activities of the Chichester District Girl Guides. There is footage of a parade through Chichester for Commonwealth Youth Sunday, a guide camp at Funtington, as well as scenes from a trip to St Malo in Brittany, northwest France.

A title opens the film: 'Commonwealth Youth Sunday 1963'. A marching band head a procession that includes scouts and girl guides in uniform. The guides carry a Union Jack flag. There are several shots of the parade as it moves through the streets of Chichester, passing the clock tower in the centre of the town.

The next section of the film features footage of guides and brownies at camp in Funtington, near Chichester, also filmed in 1963. The group are seen wearing uniforms. A group of brownies are first seen petting a white horse. We then see guides collecting firewood, and one of the guide leaders helping a brownie to light a fire. Two guides carry water to the fire and there are shots of the group cooking. A group of brownies play in the field, and the girls sit outside on the grass eating hot dogs from the campfire and pouring drinks into plastic beakers. There are several shots of a ceremony during which a guide is presented with a badge and certificate by one of the guide leaders. The group are again seen seated outside eating hot dogs.

The third film is a record of the Chichester Girl Guide's trip to St Malo in 1967. The first shot is filmed from a boat as it approaches the coast, and there is a panning shot showing the walled city of St Malo. We see footage of the group as they explore, visiting a castle and walking around the city streets. [There are several young boys in the group as well, so the trip may have been jointly organised with the scouts?]. There are shots of oysters for sale on the shoreline, with local women selling shellfish from simple stalls on the beach. A male member of the group is seen eating an oyster. There are also scenes of shoppers and stall holders at a market, including a fabric shop, a flower and vegetable stand. A group of girls are seen swimming in the sea, wearing swimming caps. They walk back from the beach and through the town. There are several shots of the exterior of the 'Hotel de Ville', and members of the group playing on the beach. The film ends with footage taken onboard the ferry home. We see several of the guides waving to figures at the port as the ferry pulls away, a view of the shoreline from the sea and passengers on deck, and a submarine funnel in the water not far from the ferry.
