Scenes filmed at Heathrow Airport [?] open the film. An Air Canada plane moves out to the runway, leaving for Canada. The plane takes off, followed by the camera as it ascends. A Pan Am plane is seen taking off from the same runway, across airport buildings. Another arrives at the airport, descending and landing. The car park and road traffic outside Terminal 3 is seen from an elevated position.
Construction scenes follow. The Royal Sovereign light tower, which was built to replace a lightship guarding the shoals of the same name some 11 miles south of Eastbourne, is shown under construction on the foreshore east of Newhaven harbour. The early stages of towing the assembly away are shown, with base afloat and tugs in attendance. Butterflies and bees are shown amongst the flowers of the garden "at No. 30". Newhaven western breakwater is shown being battered by waves and cascading spray in a westerly gale.
"Rod and his Vittesse car" are seen in 1970. Two men and two women climb out of the white vehicle at Bowden House [?]. Views of Bodiam Castle, seen from across the moat in Winter, follow. Visitors walk along the promenade at Eastbourne. The Pier is seen in the distance. A motorboat drives across the water and children play on the Seafront. Footage shot from a moving vehicle as it passes through through Steyning, Washington, Storrington, Broadwater, Shoreham and along Brighton Seafront towards Roedean School, on the cliff top in the distance, follows.
School boys, at Babbacombe, Buckfastleigh and Newton Abbott, climb onto a coach. A steam train travels along the Bluebell Railway. The boys are seen walking away from the camera at a platform, where the train has stopped. They visit an Abbey, where they pose together for a group portrait, and Plymouth Dockyard. The boys are seen on a jetty, climbing on board a boat, and on deck. Views of battleships and cranes at the dock, taken from the moving boat, follow. The boys visit a pottery, where women are at work at benches. Seaford Station is seen, where a diesel train arrives. Footage shot from the window of the moving train follows.
Model power boats are raced around Hove boating lake. They move through the water at speed. Men are seen at the side of the water with the model boats. Shoreham Harbour scenes follow. The Stanstead London moves out of the harbour, past two-man sailing boats with red and white sails. Further ships are seen, moving in and out of the harbour, including the Melissa M London, SMYC motorboats, and dinghies. Further airport scenes follow. A Pan Am jumbo jet lifts off the runway and into the sky. Further planes are seen at docking bays, where passengers enter the plane from steps, taking off, reversing and moving off towards the runway. Coaches and cars are seen on the roads outside.
Four helicopters hover over the ground in formation at a display. While in formation, coloured smoke is released, drifting away in the breeze. They move at speed over the crowd, as smoke trailing behind. Shire horses pull a carriage of barrels, atop which a man with a crop sits. A man drives three children on a model railway forwards and in reverse. Vintage cars and a traction engine are seen at the show. The engine's pistons are seen in close up, before it is driven across the field. Participants drive their vintage cars around a track. Visitors are seen, enjoying the show. Further helicopter display scenes follow.
Cars speed around an track during an Autocross event at Ninfield, near Battle. Spectators watch from the side as dust fills the air. Scenes filmed a Litlington (Polegate), of herons in a field, Drusilla's Zoo, of flamingos in an enclosure, and pigeons in the garden of Bowden House close the films.
