Summary

A compilation of home movie material which focuses on a multigenerational family enjoying leisure pursuits in the garden, the countryside and at the beach.

Description

The film opens with portraits of the film-maker's wife and two toddlers (twins?). His wife is then seen jumping jumps on her horse. She is later joined by a young girl on a pony - they are filmed riding side-by-side through the countryside. He also films his wife indoors, cuddling her son and looking out of the window with both her son and daughter. There is also footage of her playing a cello.

The family's garden plays host to children's games and playtime. The toddlers are filmed playing with a dog. Older children are joined by adults in games which include tests of strength, the Hokey Cokey and Oranges and Lemons. Some of the children are also treated to pony rides. Boys build sandcastles beyond the boundaries of the manicured garden, and children dressed in their Sunday bests are filmed getting into a car. There is also footage of a man and two women in dressing gowns walking to a sandy beach.
