An upbeat and lively amateur film documenting the Queen's Jubilee celebrations at Cuckfield and preparations leading up to them. Local residents are seen making the decorations for the town and exhibitions and demonstrations are arranged. Shots of locals taking part in the pageant and other celebrations. The film concludes with a toast to the Queen and the national anthem.


The film opens with a close-up shot of an envelope: "On Her Majesty's Silver Jubilee, First Class, Postage Paid". [Music soundtrack and narrative throughout the film]. The camera zooms in on the envelope; opening credits roll. Shot of the committee planning the Jubilee celebrations. The narrator discusses the work of the committee. Shot of Mr Mayland drawing outline of a Beefeater; shot of Beefeater sketch. The narrator explains the process of making the Beefeater's cutouts.
