A ruby wedding anniversary, christmas and a cine enthusiasts hobbies are celebrated in this film, produced and compiled by Ray Smith in 1982.
"1942-1982 Ruby Wedding"
Music, no commentary. An anniversary cake covered with icing is seen. The camera pans across greetings cards on the mantlepiece. Friends and family are gathered in the living room enjoying the cake, surrounded cards from well-wishers. "The End."
A cart is pulled by a horse. A man dressed as Father Christmas waves from the cart. The tune from "Silent Night" plays. A couple are seen at home with their dog. A woman speaks into a hand held microphone, recording her voice reading from a book. The dog plays wit wrapping paper and a new toy. She washes the dog in the sink, drying it with a towel in the garden and inside the house.
"My Hobbies Canal Road"
Reel-to-reel tape recorders, cine projectors and an editor viewer are seen inside a studio. Exterior shots of the wooden shed and greenhouse follow. A woman inspects grape vines growing on a trellis in the garden. She is seen playing with a jack russell. The two dogs are filmed asleep in their baskets. The cat sits on the back of an armchair in the window. Two young boys play with a man in the garden. Washing hangs on the line.
