A record of a typical family Christmas made by an amateur cine enthusiast. The film has an accompanying music soundtrack.

Jim Greenyer films his young daughter Emma-Jane opening her presents in her parents bedroom in the early hours of Christmas morning. She joins her grandmother and mother Robina in bed, reading one of her new books. Robina is next seen in the kitchen, removing the turkey from the oven and then carving it. The family, joined by two more grandparents, sit around the living-room table, pulling crackers, pouring alcohol, and applauding as the Christmas pudding is carried into the room. Robina, Emma-Jane and one of the grandmothers venture out onto a snow-covered green where they roll a giant snowball and participate in a gentle snowball fight.
