Summary

A young girl is transformed into the Ballerina she longs to be as she tends to weeds in a garden. Before long, her fancy is dispelled, but she is not forlorn for long.

Description

'Weeding the garden for pocket money was Jill's job but... her ambition was to be a Ballerina.' Young Jill is seen in a domestic garden, placing weeds into a tray. She pulls out a page from a book from underneath the tray, an illustration of a young ballet dancer. Jill appears on the lawn of a large garden and begins to perform a dance. As she turns, she sees the tray, empty of weeds. She runs out of the garden and through a wooded area, past a pond full of lily pads, before curling up on the ground in tears. Looking up, she sees the tray but its contents disappear once more, and she is suddenly back in the garden with her trowel and tray of weeds. She smiles as a bee lands on a flower in the garden. The End.
