The Earl of Berkeley Dukedog class 9017 is seen at Horsted Keynes before moving off. The steam locomotive moves backwards, pulling carriages. Coal burns in the cab, where the drivers are seen at work from behind. Footage shot from the cab as the train leaves the platform, moving away from a crowd of onlookers at the station, follows. The train sweeps by the camera. Its pistons, wheels and underside are seen from a low vantage point. The train moves into Sheffield Park Station, decorated with antique signs and advertisements. Families wait on the platform. Passengers inside the first carriage are seen in footage shot from the front of the train as it moves away from the station, as one man points to the cine camera. Further footage of the train moving along the track and the coal fire burning in the cab where workers wear denim shirts and trousers follows. Children are seen at a platform. As the train leaves, they wave from the windows. Two engines, the Bluebell 323 and the Dukedog class 9017, bookend a series of carriages. A young boy is seen in the cab with the men driving the train in footage shot from the coal truck behind the engine. The train passes Bluebell Halt, a wooden platform beside the track, where men wait to watch the train pass. The train arrives at Sheffield Park station before moving off past the water tower beyond.
