The film opens with shots of dogs in a garden, a woman relaxes in a garden chair reading a newspaper before being joined by a child who she talks to. At the front of the house on the driveway, a man polishes a car. This section ends with a brief shot looking out of the front window of the house, a vase of flowers sits on the windowsill.

The next part of the film opens with shots of shrubs in a garden, a woman walks along a path admiring them and taking photographs; sign: "Loafers Glory", followed by a shot of a small cottage. The woman is seen looking out over the sea from the garden, view of the sea from the top of the cliff. The woman is then seen walking in a field, next to a river. Numerous close-up shots follow of butterflies and wild flowers, the woman is briefly seen taking a photograph.

The film cuts to scenes of a beach, waves break on a rocky beach. The camera pans around, to reveal cottages, a woman swims in the sea, followed by shots of the film-maker also swimming. Back on the beach, the woman sits on the sand and the man walks towards the waters edge. Brief shots of wildflowers and butterflies.

The next section opens with a shot of a hovercraft arriving on a beach, passengers are seen disembarking before it departs. There are more shots of the garden and flowers seen seen earlier in the film. The woman is now joined by a younger couple. The film cuts to shots of the hovercraft seen on open water in the distance and The Queen Mary passenger ship.
